HOMEADRIAN BUCKNER
Hello! I’m Adrian, soon to be graduated 4th-Year Visual Communication student and cheerleader at the University of Kansas, also pursuing a Certificate in Book Arts. As a design student I’ve found an appreciation for traditional physical printing processes, materials, & typography. In an industry that moves rapidly toward digital solutions, these hands-on processes have taught me the value of patience, intention, and craftsmanship.
Now, I approach design with a deeper appreciation for process & detail.
Finding ways to incorporate that texture, friction, specificity, and feeling into all of my design solutions. My portfolio is a collection of work that reflects my passion for bold typography, thoughtful composition, and tactile print/bookmaking. Glad you’re here, take a look around!

As designers we spend much of our time working with typographic application for a variety of two-dimensional surfaces from magazines to computer screens. There is however, a world of rich typographic experience both formal and informal in signs, graffiti, and other forms of lettering that inhabit our everyday environment.
Typographie Publique a collection of four volumes exploring the rich typographic experience found in France. A memento of my first two trips across the pond. Photography ranges from the heart of the city in paris, to the quiter haute-savoie of annecy, and the Snowy alps of Chamonix.
This publication is written in both english and french translations, presenting an interesting design challenge—but for a project like Typographie Publique, it also becomes a statement about audience, access and form.
